Painting my way towards inspiration!

Todays project ideas started with a christmas theme, but ended with this watercolor portrait. I hope you like it as much as I do:) I really think this is my best one so far. I can't believe how talented AgnesCecilie is (my inspiration on these themed portraits). She has opened my world to a whole new way of painting and I'm really pleased with the technique she has taught me thru her youtube videos!

Well here it is, my last creation:

Fall at the cabin!

This weekend Mr. K and I took a break from life with his parents at their cabin. The fall weather is really beautiful in the mountains this time of year, and the view was amazing!

A weekend with reading a book in front of the fireplace with a cup of hot chocolate really makes the new week much easier to face.

Thanks for a lovely weekend guys!

Ps. still waiting on my sewing machine being fixed...

New Job!!

Hi everybody, long time no wright.
First I just want to say that I really appreciate all of you readers out there, I LOVE coming to my blog edit site and see how many of you that are still following even though  I haven't been blogging a lot these last months, it really warms my hart to see that your still interested in what I make!
Second I'd just thought that I'd tell you why I haven't been sewing for the longest time now. You see this summer I had a lot on my mind with finding a new job and all of the tension that brings with it, so I really didn't feel very inspired.. And lets face it, its not easy to inspire people in the first place, so to inspire people when you don't feel it yourself is just impossible!
In the end of August I finally got a job witch I LOVE!! It might not seem like the most inspired job to you, selling tiles, but the people I now work with are just amazing people, seriously!! I feel like I have known them for years and years already, so a big thanks to MegaFlis for making me feel so welcome!

When thats said, and my inspiration has come to life again my sewing machine broke!!!!!!!! Can you believe it??!!?? probably not, it really sounds like a stupid excuse, but its actually true!!! First my threder thingy broke a couple a months ago, and when I say a couple of months I mean like in march! That I could live with.. But then the bobbin kept knotting, that was really annoying!! Last but certainly not least the fabric stopped pulling through so it just got stuck!! So finally I couldn't take it anymore, so I took my precious sewing machine back to the store where I bought it and I'm still waiting for them to call me so I can pick it up.

First on my to do list is a hairband for my niece and a new butterfly tutorial as a guest post!

So keep following, and I will sew you soon;D

Last night I started a new handbag project using an old friend, the brown and white cowhide that I also used to make the cowhide clutches.
Of course I couldn't leave you guys hanging so I just had to finished it.
And here it is!
I used a pink cotton fabric for the lining to give it that edge, and the golden chains for the classic summer look.
Well, I'm actually leaving for italy in just a couple of hours and I'm not even finished packing!! "Umf.." so in other words, this is my last post before my summer vacation. . .
I'll be home in a couple of weeks so I hope to see you then.

Only 3 left!

This post is mainly for my Norwegian readers!

I have added a SALE topic in my STORE, And I just wanted to mention that I have only 3 Cowhide Clutches left and that I am selling them for 650NOK! So if you are interested in buying one you have to act quickly! These Bags are really nice and I'm probably not making any more of these clutches, witch is also the perfect size for an iPad case I might ad!

However Im making the smaller sizes with chain straps witch I will be putting out for sale soon, but this is probably the only time I will be selling these bags at this LOW price! So this is the time to buy!

Remember that they are made from genuine cowhide and spots and color will vary!

Pattern

Here are the pattern for the Kitty Cuddle teddy bear ;)
Hope you enjoy it!

The pattern does NOT include seam allowance!

Things to remember when making the kitten:

Make a little mark on the wrong side of the fabrics where you want the ears, legs and arms to go on the head and belly.

Sew the arm, foot, tail, and ear pieces together first, then turn and press.

Fill the legs.

Sew the pieces on the front head and snout first and sew those together.

Embroider on the smile.

Place the tail between the to back pieces and sew along the straight edge.

Sew the front head and the belly together, and then the back head and the back piece together, before sewing it all together along the sides, placing the arms and legs in between as a sandwich.

As you can see I added some decorative ribbons and the letter K on mine, so feel free to experiment, and have fun with it!

If you decide to make one of these I would LOVE to se the result!
So please post a link to your site bellow!

Tonights project

Here's tonight's project, a kitty cuddle, also for my niece Kayla, hence a K on the kittens belly.

The way I made this was just to draw a Kitty and how I wanted it to look, and then cut the pieces out.

I´m going to post the pattern on the blog as quick as possible. So keep an eye out for that.

Tonights Project

Yesterday afternoon I had my brother and my perfect little niece over for a BBQ visit. For those of you that are new to my blog you might not know this, but my brother just had his first born baby girl 6 week ago. So anyway, I decided to make her a diaper changing pad that could be used over and over again, I figured instead of using the disposable ones I'd make one that could be wiped clean and washed in the washing machine when needed.

So this is what I came up with:

I also made this pouch to put it in along with some diaper when their on the go.
